No. 12 - "The Moonglows"

'I Just Can't Tell No Lie' ('53)

Originally known as "The Crazy Sounds" they managed to get an audition over the telephone with the original Rock 'n' Roll disc jockey Alan Freed. The song they chose was 'I Just Can't Tell Know Lie'. Freed saw fit to change their name to "The Moonglows" (Freed was known as Moondog); he also helped rewrite the song. The song was released on his newly formed Champagne label in March 1953, with the flip side being 'I've Been Your Dog'; a tribute to "The Ravens" sound. The record didn't do very well...........Shame!
